The recalled car seats are still safe to use for your little one, but it is important to register your car seat as soon as possible with the manufacturer so you don’t miss out on any safety updates.
“Filling out the registration form for your car seat allows the manufacturer to easily contact you in the case of a recall,” says Michael Bloch, child seat project leader at Consumer Reports.
Evenflo Company, Inc. will mail owners a U.S. recall registration card free of charge. You can also register your car seat now online or by calling Evenflo customer service at 800-233-5921, regardless of whether you bought it from another seller. Evenflo also includes resources on where to find the model number and date of manufacture needed for registration.
