Every Super Bowl 2026 movie trailer revealed, plus one Marvel-sized rumor

The Super Bowl 2026 will mark the debut of some can’t-miss movie trailers. Sure, the Super Bowl may be a football game, but everyone knows it’s really the biggest advertising event of the year. Among all the dozens of Super Bowl commercials are a handful of trailers for some of the biggest movies coming in 2026.

Already, there are studios confirming that trailers will premiere at Super Bowl LX — most notably “Scream 7.” But a recent pair of reports from Deadline and Variety just revealed a treasure trove of rumored trailers, and quite a few major absences.

Trailers confirmed to appear at Super Bowl 2026

‘Scream 7’

Scream 7 | Big Game Spot (2026 Movie) – Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: Feb. 27

“Scream 7” is the lone movie we’ve seen a Super Bowl trailer for so far. But perhaps that’s not surprising given this movie is coming in mere weeks.

In this installment of the Scream franchise, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera are out, and Neve Campbell is back in. She’s reprising her role as Sidney Prescott, the main target of several Ghostface killers. She’s been living a quiet life in her new hometown of Pine Grove, Indiana, but now there’s a new Ghostface on the loose. And they want Sidney to suffer by targeting her daughter, Tatum (Isabel May).

‘Michael’

Michael (2026) Official Trailer – Jaafar Jackson – YouTube

Release date: April 24

“Michael” stars Jaafar Jackson as his uncle, Michael Jackson, the controversial “King of Pop.” Directed by “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua, the movie is set to cover Michael’s rise as a member of the Jackson 5 to the earlier period of his solo stardom.

This movie is also supposed to cover some of the child sexual abuse allegations against Michael, though you wouldn’t know it from looking at the trailer. There have been reports of behind-the-scenes rewrites due to legal concerns from victims’ families, and Michael’s daughter, Paris, has come out against several aspects of the movie. Still, the expectation is that if you’re just coming to watch Michael Jackson perform hits on the silver screen, you’ll come away satisfied.

Trailers rumored to appear at Super Bowl 2026

‘Hoppers’

Release date: March 6

“Hoppers” stars Piper Curda as Mabel, a college student who chooses to download her brain into a robotic beaver using experimental technology. She then assimilates into the local ecosystem at a nearby woodland pond, encouraging the animals to rise up against the humans who plan to destroy the pond to make way for a construction site.

This is Pixar’s lone original movie this year, and just one of two original stories for the studio between now and the end of 2029. So, nobody tell the people at Disney that this is definitely just ripping off “Avatar,” or we’ll never get an original Pixar movie again.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’

Release date: April 1

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” was an unexpected smash hit, as Mario (Chris Pratt) and his brother Luigi (Charlie Day) helped Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy) defeat the evil King Bowser (Jack Black), who is totally obsessed with her.

Well, as we see in this first trailer for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” Bowser is still tiny following his defeat in the first film, but now his son, Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie), is out for revenge. But Mario, Luigi and Peach might get some unexpected help from Rosalina (Brie Larson), a princess from outer space.

‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’

The Mandalorian and Grogu | Official Trailer | In Theaters May 22, 2026 – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: May 22

I’ve been told I can’t refer to this movie as “The Mandalorian” season 4 … even though that’s exactly what it is. And if you watch the trailer, it sure feels like a brand new season of Mando condensed into a (hopefully) two-hour movie.

If you haven’t watched “The Mandalorian” before, it starred Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, aka The Mandalorian. He’s a bounty hunter in the Outer Rim, and he comes to adopt Grogu, a Jedi youngling of the same species as Yoda. They go on all sorts of adventures, and in this movie, they’ve been enlisted by the New Republic to deal with some problems, including pesky Imperial warlords.

‘Disclosure Day’

Disclosure Day | Official Teaser – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: June 12

“Disclosure Day” is one of my most anticipated movies of 2026, but it already got an official teaser trailer at the beginning of the year. So it’s unclear if it’s rumored Super Bowl 2026 appearance will be a re-airing of this first trailer, or a brand new trailer we haven’t seen yet.

Based on an original story by Spielberg, this sci-fi film stars Josh O’Connor as a man who has discovered that aliens exist, and they’re here on Earth. He plans to show the entire world on a single day all the evidence he’s found, setting up a potentially epic moment. The cast for this movie is loaded, and includes Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Emily Blunt, who it appears might be one of the aliens.

‘Toy Story 5’

Toy Story 5 | Teaser Trailer | In Theaters June 19 – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: June 19

Remember all that talk of unoriginal Pixar movies, mere paragraphs ago? Well, get ready for “Toy Story 5.” Yes, that’s right. Somehow, Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) returned. And they’re bringing back a lot of their old friends.

Joking aside, for as creatively bankrupt as a fifth “Toy Story” may seem, the premise of this film is genuinely intriguing. It centers around the eight-year-old Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw), who became the new owner of the “Toy Story” toys in “Toy Story 4.” She has become enamored with a new favorite toy: a frog-like tablet named Lilypad. That means her other toys are a thing of the past; a terrifying concept just about any parent will find relatable.

‘Minions 3’

Release date: July 1

We don’t know a ton about “Minions 3” yet, other than it will be a sequel to “Minions: The Rise of Gru” and a prequel to “Despicable Me.” But it’s rumored to get a Super Bowl 2026 movie trailer, and given that Universal Pictures is owned by NBCUniversal, which is airing the Big Game, that feels like a safe bet.

‘Supergirl’

Supergirl | Official Teaser Trailer – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: June 26

Technically, “Supergirl” won’t have a trailer shown at this year’s Super Bowl. But it is rumored to air some sort of teaser during Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl (also on Feb. 8), so it felt worthy of inclusion on this list.

You can read our “Supergirl” trailer breakdown from December for all the details on this upcoming DC movie, but here’s the short version. Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) is having a rough … life. So she’s turned to drinking as a coping mechanism.

At a bar, she meets Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), whose father has been killed by Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts). Kara, as part of her coping strategy, agrees to go on Ruthye’s quest for revenge and proceeds to go on a tirade of violence.

Trailers rumored to miss the Super Bowl

‘Moana’

Moana | Official Teaser – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: July 10

This latest installment of the “Moana” franchise is the same as the first installment of the “Moana” franchise, but live-action instead of animated. So if you’ve seen that movie about Moana (Catherine Laga’aia) traveling with the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to save her island, then you know what to expect. That could be why Disney has reportedly opted not to air a trailer during the Super Bowl.

‘The Odyssey’

The Odyssey | Official Trailer – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: July 17

We’re getting a slow drip feed of “The Odyssey” content, so perhaps this movie didn’t need a Super Bowl spot. At this point, it’s probably the most hyped movie of the year that isn’t part of a massive franchise.

If you’ve never read Homer, “Iliad” tells the tale of the Trojan War, ending with the death of the Trojan Prince Hector at the hands of Achilles. “Odyssey” picks up 10 years after the fall of Troy and follows the king of Ithaca, Odysseus (Matt Damon), as he tries to return home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland).

Directed by Christopher Nolan, “The Odyssey” is almost certain to impress, but with a cast that also features Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal and Charlize Theron, it might be one of the greatest casts ever assembled.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY – Day One on Set – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: July 31

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” may be the next Spider-Man movie on the docket for Sony, but it’s reportedly skipping Super Bowl 2026. We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the first trailer of what could be the biggest movie of the year.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Avengers: Doomsday | Only in Theaters December 18, 2026 – YouTube

Watch On

Release date: Dec. 18

Sorry, Marvel fans. Reportedly, seems like four trailers over the past few weeks have been enough for the powers that be. This MCU movie is likely not to air any spots during the Big Game.

If you’re totally unfamiliar with “Avengers: Doomsday,” it’s the next Avengers team-up movie and will bring back Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU as the iconic villain Doctor Doom. It’s directed by the Russo brothers, who also directed “Avengers: Endgame,” and a whole slew of returning Marvel heroes are returning to stop Doom.

On March 26, Marvel revealed a large swath of the “Doomsday” cast, including Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Patrick Stewart and more, but the subsequent trailers have revealed even more, including the return of the Fox-era X-Men and Chris Evans as Steve Rodgers.

Conincidentally, this is the third Tom Holland movie to be rumored not to get a Super Bowl trailer, which is just a fun fact to mention.

No trailers from Netflix, Apple, Warner Bros., Sony or Amazon MGM Studios

The headline sort of says it all, but reportedly, Netflix, Apple, Warner Bros., Sony and Amazon (and Amazon MGM Studios) are all opting out of paying millions to air a Super Bowl trailer for their upcoming films.
